Croxley's Ale House

September 08, 2010

Croxley€™s in Franklin Square, Long Island (There are Croxley€™s Ale Houses all around NY, from the city to Long Island) is my Monday night beer and wings spot. If you didn€™t already realize, I like to drink. Croxley€™s has a great assortment of beers and none of the usual shit, so you have to step out of your little bubble, leave your security blanket at home and get to tastin€™ some exotic beers. Monday night is the night I go the most often because its 10 cent wing night (Wednesday is also 10 cent wing night). So I order anywhere from 20 to 40 hot buffalo wings and try to get my heartburn started as soon as possible. Croxley€™s is exactly what it sounds like, an English pub with some (one) piece of cool decor (old red replica English telephone booth), awesome pub grub and a ton of beer. Friendly staff (the bouncer and some of the waitresses know my hooligan friends and myself by name), ton of TV€™s for people who like sports and like I stated earlier, ton of beer to get your palate going international.

(I€™m in the background of this photo, my friend luckily brought his camera since I always forget mine. I€™m too focused on getting my gluttony on. He is a horrible photographer so forgive him. Side note; last time I was there, I bumped into yours truly, Rob "FilthMouth", so don't take my word for it, take Rob's stomach if that in anyway further convinces you it's a happening place. )

The Beginning: Making Episode 1
The Beginning: Making Episode 1

January 09, 2016

It's not a secret that Star Wars Episode 1 is not only a horrible Star Wars movie, it's just a horrible movie in general. Sitting through it is a task, it's so dense and filled with boring political plot points, bad acting and computer graphics. It feels more like an ILM portfolio showcasing CG techniques rather than a film.

I can remember as a kid watching it for the first time and leaving the theater confused. I thought maybe I wasn't watching as careful as I should have been? I dunno what it was but I felt like I missed something because, its Star Wars, isn't it supposed to be good? I thought, "Did I just black out for most of that movie? Was I daydreaming the whole time?" I begged my parents to take me again, so I could see what I surely missed but they wouldn't take me. I had to wait for it to come out on video when I finally realized that it wasn't just me, this shit really does just suck.
